Feb 09, 2012 Just want to know how to exclude a SPECIFIC file, as my Avast ( ver 6.0.1367 - freeware ) only shows exclusions for folders, and NOT individual files. You can manually edit the line where the path for the exception is. So, using the 'browse' button, select first the folder, and then edit the resulting path and 'add' to exclusions. To exclude all HTML files, type *.htm* into the text box. To exclude a folder and its sub-folders, add * to the end of the folder name, for instance C: example *. To exclude all files labeled in a certain way on any of your hard drives, include?: in front of the path, for instance?: example.exe. The file selector dialog seems to not be affected by the setting to show hidden files, but you can specify a manual path to hidden folders using the Go. Within the selector modal, press ⌘ + ⇧ + G to access the function. From there, you can specify a path manually, even a hidden one.
