Avast For Mac Says Not Protected

I have Avast Free antivirus installed on Windows 7. I just noticed that Windows Action Center (the white flag icon in task bar) warns me about activating Avast antivirus, and even if I click activate it will just continue to ask for that. Avast for mac premier.

I'm constantly seeing people who are convinced their systems are infected because avast! Has identified a legitimate system file as malicious. So I would agree with Allan that you should re-think installing it. To protect yourself against malware, read my, and if after reading that you want anti-virus software, use something it recommends.

As for the problem, I can't say that I've seen this with the avast! So either there's something wrong with the installer you have downloaded (where did you get it, and what version of avast! Is it?) or there's something wrong with your system that needs to be addressed even if you decide not to install avast!
